Mt. Vernon Ohio
Owner Tom Ruffner was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio, with the innate, industrious drive that ultimately led him to open Shamrock Plastics in 1989 in Mount Vernon, Ohio, the Company's original location. Before opening Shamrock Plastics, Tom learned the ropes of the field out of high school and before graduating from ITT Technical College. Shamrock's humble beginnings were in a small 10-by-20-foot storage space, with business drummed up by going door to door.
Myrtle Beach, SC
While in Mount Vernon Tom and Deb would often travel to Myrtle Beach, S.C. to vacation and visit their daughter, son-in-law Nate, who was in the military, and grandson nearby. When they decided to permanently move here in 2012, Tom and Deb also decided to trade in retirement to instead open a second Shamrock office and leave the Ohio Location in the very capabale hands of their son, Jay.
